Arabian Challenge Day 50 - Bahrain's National Museum (2)

See below the royal Buick which was given to the National Museum by the royal family of Bahrain.

Above: When you enter, you will see this: a big hall and on the floor is the google view of Bahrain. The map is so big, it goes till the end of the hall. I have never seen anything like that and it is pretty amazing.
Below: See my shoes as I am walking on Bahrain!

The above copper bull's head is about 5000 years old and was found on the island. To me it looks more like a pig with horns and monkey ears, but then, who knows what bulls looked like 5000 years ago...
Above and below: As one can see, there are tons of these burial mounds scattered across Bahrain; in fact, there are 85,000 of those graves all over the tiny island. First, people thought Bahrain was the graveyard of Arabia, but research showed that this was not true. Anyway, this part of the exhibition showed findings of tombs and graves - mainly bones and grave goods. One could see that many people suffered from fluorosis, as underground sweet water in Bahrain shows excess amounts of fluorides. The result: gradual fusion of various bones and strangely coloured teeth. Isn't it amazing how groundwater can result in thousands of years of similar effects on people?
